Yes.

Also, you just won the internet for today.

That is soooo perfect.

LOL, thanks! Glad someone got that reference. :) I frankly can imagine Jarlaxle dressing like this too... he is flamboyant enough.

Huh. That is clearly an intentional homage.

Let's hope that pirate isn't one of the minis in the next set. :)

That is unnecessary as it kinda already exists in Heroclix. :)

There is an obscure DC comics character from golden age Superman stories called Vartox whose looks and appearance is based on Zed from Zardoz.

Gale Force 9 is doing a board game for this adventure, oddly, not Wizkids. It has unpainted minis though, mostly various PCs and humans/dwarves as far as I can tell.

Wizkids doesn't always do their boardgames. GF9 did the Tyrants of the Underdark board game a couple years ago. And Wizards of the Coast published the Lords of Waterdeep game +expansion themselves.

This new game isn't part of the D&D Adventure System series. These minis look tiny, more like 15mm scale. They might make a good army of gnomes/Svirfneblin? :D

Just to give some (faint & low) hope...this is the list of WizKids presence in recent & upcoming conventions, perhaps they will show something in one of those:

The Dice Tower Con – 7/4/18 – 7/8/18

San Diego Comic Con – 7/19/18 – 7/22/18

Gen Con – 8/2/18 – 8/5/18

Spiel/Essen – 10/25/18 – 10/28/18

PAX Unplugged – 11/30/18 – 12/2/18

I checked The Dice Tower Con news and nope, they did show some board/card games but nothing interesting miniatures-wise. Ouch.

10 weeks/70 days until the street date of both the "Waterdeep: Dragon Heist" hardcover adventure & the "Icons of the Realms" set of the same name!
Normally the sets release on a wednesday, but this time it is tuesday the 18th of september.

Personally i think Gencon 51 (august 2nd-5th) will have some pictures of the miniatures, as they often had them in the past.

With the last set, Monster Menagerie III, they did no previews at all, but with all other sets they did them between 3-5 weeks before release.

Wizkids is really grouping the releases to close together, we get nothing from may to august, but september, october & november each have a whole set - crazy.
So far i have been able to buy both the D&D Icons of the Realms sets and the Pathfinder Battles sets, but with three back to back instead of two that may not work this time...

Let's hope someone will bother to take photos of them this time, unlike last year...

My thoughts also...I'll need to make hard choices, too. At the end, the stronger set will get most of my money, but I will also tap into the others, for sure. That said, it will be a long, long summer miniatures-wise.

Isn't the new Nolzur wave being released in august?

Not a miniature, but related - a titular Waterdeep Dragon, aka a gold coin from Waterdeep (as based on the 5E artwork from the Player's Guide). Maaan I'd buy this in a heartbeat.
