  • This is a show I only remember seeing a couple of episodes of, but I remember that I enjoyed it. Can anyone help me find out the name?

It was effectively a diner (yes, like with a counter with stools, booths, tacky linoleum floor, etc.) that was “between time and space” and the main character (a man, not teen-ager, but not an old man) ended up trapped there. And he would help “right” things that were going wrong.

That is LITERALLY about all I remember… It was late 1980’s or early 1990’s, not sure if it was network or cable, as I saw it in reruns at a friend’s house.

    Any help would be appreciated!

I think that there were a couple episodes of Quantum Leap like that. But I’m not aware of any series that was based in a diner and focused on fixing things where/when they went “wrong”.

Quantam Leep was my first thought too, since that described the series finale. But then I remembered a show that sort of matched the “diner” theme called “Strange Luck” starring D. B. Sweeney. The main character hung out in a diner and the sci-fi based plots usually originated from there. (there was even a reference to X-Files’ Fox Mulder in one of the last shows)

Oh, wow…I hadn’t thought about Strange Luck in forever, and truth be told all I remember was the Mulder and Scully reference and D.B. Sweeny. I was sorely disappointed when that one got the axe.

Nope, definitely not. I don’t think I missed an episode of Quantum Leap, and it wasn’t that one.

Hmmm…. might be. I’ll check it out further. Thanks.

There are actually a lot of these types of shows: person has weird thing happen to them, uses it to help others while trying to figure out why it happened (or WHAT is happening):

      Quantum Leap
      Early Edition
      Journeyman
      John Doe
      Strange Luck
      The Sentinel
      The Pretender
      VR5

Feel free to add. I know there’s one where a woman was created (cloned?) to be a super soldier and escaped (there’s another who was created before her and keeps coming back – this is recent and primary networks). Another where the woman heals from everything (NOT Heroes) and fights with some friends to help others and find the people who did this to her (also recent, but non-primary networks).

Dark Angel was my first guess as well. Jessica Alba when she was all young-like (not that she’s old now, but you know what I mean).

Nope. In the one I was talking about, the woman is still working with a government agency – not sure if it was the one that created her, or another that wants to take advantage of her abilities…

Dark Angel always “felt” more like a dark superhero kind of show to me.

I was gonna suggest la femme nikita, but I don’t know anything about her having superpowers or clones.

Veritas maybe? I never watched so couldn’t say what it was about.

But there’s something scratching at the back of my mind and I can’t quite reach it…
